Robert had a career as a police officer for 37 years, including 14 years as a sergeant-investigator with the Sûreté du Québec. He has a university education in investigation from UQTR (2008).

Retired since 2019, he redirected his career and joined René Paillé and François Gilbert in the investigations of fraudulent insurance claims.

He was able to adjust his investigation and interview methods for his work in the field of insurance.
