René began his career as a claims adjuster in 1982 for a major insurer. His knowledge and marked interest in the field of expertise quickly led him to be named Major Loss expert.

In 1995, he acquired a claims adjuster firm. On his own with his partners, he develops his expertise to specialize in fraudulent investigations of arson, illegal drug-related activities, financial fraud and underwriting false declarations. He sets up a multidisciplinary investigative group, enlisting the knowledge of former major crime and S.I.J police investigators, who come to assist him in his work.

In 2016, he was approached by a national claims adjuster and sold his business to be appointed Provincial Director of the Special Investigation Unit.

In 2022, still strongly driven by the challenges of expertise, he joined DRL’s specialized investigations team.
